Jan 1998 :: DMB wraps up recording at Electric Lady Studios in Sausalito, CA for their 3rd major label album. MTV documents the making of the album.

 

 

8.09.98 :: Before These Crowded Streets is certified 2x Platinum

DMB spent the beginning of 1998 finishing up work on Before These Crowded Streets before touring for the majority of the rest of the year. 3 singles from the album had decent success throughout the year.
Jan 1998 :: Serious rumors of a 1998 Dave & Tim tour circulate and shortly after a "confirmation", the tour is canceled due to timing conflicts.

10.08.98 :: DMB plays a series of festivals in South America

Spring 1998 :: DMB attempts to schedule a concert at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, VA, but doesn't succeed.
