1993 :: Bama Rags is formed to sell/market DMB merchandise.
3.23.93 :: Heithcliff's Haiku Warriors debuts.
11.17.93 :: Dave Matthews launches his own music publishing company - Colden Grey, LTD.
8.20.93 - 9.07.93 :: This is the only resemblance of time off for DMB in 1993.. though they did play one show at Trax on 8/31 and they spent time recording tracks at Flat Five Studios.
1.13.93 :: Carter, Leroi, & Boyd play a special show with the "Charlottesville Allstars".
9.19.93 :: DMB plays their 1st gig at Red Rocks Amphitheatre opening for The Samples.
11.13.93 :: "Take A Minute Jam" is played.
Early 1993 :: DMB records yet another demo including the 1st known "Kind Intentions". Boyd is not present on this demo.
6.23.95 :: DMB returns to Europe for the 2nd time this summer, the only time this would happen in the band's history.
March 1993 :: Doug Wannamaker takes Peter's place for a few gigs during a period of transition for DMB.
7.06.93 :: Say Goodbye debuts then titled "Any Noise/Anti-Noise".
7.08.93 :: Doobie Thing debuts.
11.01.93 :: DMB signs a record contract with RCA/BMG.
12.11.93 :: Route 2 debuts - a predecessor to Proudest Monkey.
1.19.93 :: Rhyme & Reason debuts.
1993 was obviously one of the strongest years of touring in DMB's history. As they grew it remained critical that they play as many gigs as possible. They played approximately 160+ shows that year. On March 23rd, Peter Griesar played his last gig with the band and consequently, DMB was forced to redefine their sound resulting in what we all knew for several years.

11.30.93 :: Dave plays a show with Shannon Worrell at Prism Coffeehouse for a local radio station benefit.
12.31.93 :: DMB plays their 2nd annual New Years Eve show.
8.17.93 :: DMB's performance at the Muse in Nantucket, MA is recorded for their upcoming debut album.
12.07.93/12.08.93 :: Tim Reynolds joins DMB onstage for shows at Trax & Floodzone.
11.09.93 :: Remember Two Things, the band's first independent album is released under Bama Rags.
12.28.93 :: Dave plays a Charlotte, NC record store to promote Remember Two Things.
4.14.93 :: #36 debuts.
2.03.93 :: Coran Capshaw signs an official "artist-manager agreement".
6.03.97 :: DMB opens the Summer Tour in Richmond, VA for what is the shortest full band touring year in the band's history.

Oct. 1993 :: Bruce Flohr of RCA records attends a show at the Wetlands in New York.
